Darkroom

photo access is proud to be the only publicly accessible darkroom between Sydney and Melbourne. Immerse yourself in the captivating world of black and white printing alongside our experienced staff and fellow film enthusiasts. To access the darkroom, simply become a photo access member and demonstrate your proficiency, or join one of our darkroom based workshops for guidance. Darkroom access costs $50 per day, covering equipment, standard chemicals, and expert advice. Bring your own paper or purchase some from the shop. Sessions are available during our regular hours (Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm), but booking is essential, as the darkroom may occasionally be reserved for workshops. Join our monthly After Dark sessions for independent printing every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm, where you can connect with a friendly group and explore the art of black and white printing after hours.
