Expressions of interest

HYPERSPECTRAL is an exciting initiative by photo access that transforms the Manuka Arts Centre gardens into a vibrant display of dynamic digital and sound artworks. We seek local, national, and international artists working at the forefront of emergent technologies to contribute to a diverse program celebrating the fusion of creativity, experimentation, art, and science.

Attention visionary digital artists and innovative creators! We are thrilled to announce the third edition of HYPERSPECTRAL, an immersive outdoor event featuring contemporary digital media, video, and sound artwork. Centred around the themes of “realities, synthetic realities, and consciousness,” we invite submissions that explore emergent realms and embrace the limitless potential for growth, transformation, and renewal in our constantly evolving world.

We encourage artists to explore various interpretations of the themes, spanning from the exploration of alternative realities and the manipulation of synthetic environments to the introspective examination of consciousness and its manifestations.

This event offers valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and the chance to be part of a unique community of innovators.

Date: Saturday, October 19th
Location: Manuka Arts Centre Gardens

Submission Guidelines:

1. All submitted works must be original and created by the artist.
2. Submissions should be digital media, video, or sound works that respond to the themes of “realities, synthetic realities, and consciousness.”
3. Artists are encouraged to explore a variety of interpretations of the theme.
4. Works must be finalised and fully realised at the time of submission.

Submission deadline is 11:59 pm on Saturday, September 14th. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Several artists’ works will be selected to participate in HYPERSPECTRAL. PhotoAccess welcomes submissions from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTQIA+, and people with lived experience of disability.
