Simply taking a picture is only the start of getting the most out of your photography. You need to learn how to quickly and effectively edit your photographs to make them look their best! Using Adobe Lightroom, this workshop will teach you all the basic skills and know-how of editing in a fun and practical way.

The workshop will cover the all principles of the program from; importing and cataloguing your pictures help you to sort through them easily, as well as simple editing techniques such as contrast, blemish-removal, colour-control and lens corrections.

You’ll be assisted by an experienced tutor Julian Lumb who will help you in identifying common issues and equip you with the best remedies. By the end, you’ll be confident enough to know how edit and take creative control of your images!

This workshop requires no-prior understand of editing software and is suitable for everyone who wants to know how to take better control of their photography and image processing.

In this one day Lightroom Basics course, you will cover:

  • Basics of importing images into Lightroom and managing a library
  • Where Lightroom keeps your images, and what it does to them
  • How to make good use of keywords, ratings and flags
  • What is metadata, and how it can be used to search for images
  • Using Stacks
  • How to change the storage location of your images safely
  • Histogram, basic panel, crop/rotate, healing brush, red-eye, masking
  • Exporting and export presets
  • And much more!

PhotoAccess has Mac laptops with Lightroom available for use if needed (please ensure you email us to book a laptop at the time of enrolment).

  • Your own laptop with Lightroom installed
  • Any hard drives or specific images you may want to work with
  • Your lunch (or you can purchase lunch from the nearby shops)
