Fletcher Aldous

Fletcher Aldous is a photographer working on Gadigal Land, Sydney. In 2023, Fletcher completed a Bachelor of Photography (Honours) at the University of Technology. He is interested in our relationship to nature and the potential of photography to create powerful narratives around identity and memory.

Kailum Graves

Kailum Graves is a multi-disciplinary and conceptual media artist critically obsessed with the artifactual digital object. Through artworks, writing, and curatorial projects he investigates the hidden and invisible structures of power. While this interest stems from very personal experience and is a way for him to begin to understand, accept, and deal with his own complex post-traumatic stress disorder (c-PTSD), angst, anxiety, and depression, his work addresses ideas, metaphors, images, themes, (dark) humour, feelings, and symbols which are universally shared (the nuances of human existence). He is particularly interested in image-rich technologies and the way global media communication can be sampled, organised, and considered in new philosophical, sociological, and political terms. To do this, Kailum investigates different media and photographic methods—from appropriation to pixel and data manipulation—to create still and moving image projects that reflect the influence of technology on the photographic medium and sit resolutely within the context of future movements of contemporary photography.

Starry Kong

Starry Kong is a Melbourne-based visual artist who was born in Kunming, China. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree and an Honours degree in photography from RMIT University, Australia in 2019 and 2020. Starry is interested in the intangible and inexpressible sentiments that are characteristic to humankind. She explores this phenomenon through her own experiences of loss, grief, alienation and her long-term mental illness, which has become the foundation and origin of her creative practice. Starry uses photography as the primary medium to express her inner feelings and thoughts, while metaphor and symbolisation constitute her visual art language.

Remi Siciliano

Remi Siciliano is a Sydney-based photomedia artist exploring the potential to collaborate with other organisms and ecologies to make images. Remi investigates how the material and receptive nature of analogue photography can lend itself to collaborative experiments and encounters. Their practice transforms into an active and lively ecology where they do not execute constant technical control over tools and materials but instead play one small role in the creation of works. This practice of intentionally relinquishing agency becomes an invitation to other species, landscape processes and photographic materials to play an active role in image-making.

Remi practices Ecological Image-Making, her methodology for embracing and celebrating all the different organisms, materials and forces at play within her work. Collaborative interactions entangle and confuse the divisions between artist, organism, material, subject, object and landscape. Working ecologically dissolves these categories as we know them, and Remi’s work begins to imagine future possibilities of relating and collaborating.
