Ashlee Whitehead is an emerging artist based in Canberra. Her practice focuses on the cyanotype process, traditionally known for its Prussian blue colour. After recently graduating with Honours from the ANU School of Art & Design, she began exploring how introducing multiple layers of colour can transform a monochromatic cyanotype. Using natural dyes, she investigates how different tones interact within a single image. Through this process, she looks at how layering colour can change the mood of an image, creating images that go beyond the traditional blue cyanotype.
