Hilary Wardhaugh

Hilary Wardhaugh is an Australian photographer whose work explores the complex relationship between humanity and the environment and other more introspective projects viewed through a feminist lens. Her imagery frequently incorporates themes of irony and contradiction and offers a critical perspective on social and environmental issues.

The #everydayclimatecrisis Visual Petition, achieved global recognition and in 2025 was exhibited at the Australian Embassy in Berlin. Her work has been collected by the National Library of Australia.

In 2025 Hilary was a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize, the Olive Cotton Award, Head On Portrait Prize, Mullin’s Conceptual Photography Prize, Canberra Contemporary Photography Prize, Lanyon Art Prize and in 2024 she was awarded Canberra Artist of the Year.
