2027 Gallery Program
photo access invites artists and curators of all career levels to submit their work for consideration in our 2027 Gallery Program. This is an opportunity to showcase your work in a gallery with an established local and national profile, engaged audiences and a dynamic network of artists, curators and arts commentators.
About photo access
photo access is the Canberra region’s centre for contemporary photography, film, video and media arts. Located at the Manuka Arts Centre, we are a not-for-profit, member-based organisation fostering the creation, sharing and appreciation of photographic culture and photo-media practice.
Each year, photo access presents a program of exhibitions featuring local, national and international emerging and established photo-media artists, together with accessible public talks, events, performances and artist residencies that foster critical debate about, understanding of and engagement with image practice. We are home to the only publicly accessible darkroom in the region and support a vibrant community of makers working in contemporary darkroom and alternative photo-media processes.
Our Gallery Program
Our program aims to showcase works by contemporary artists, emphasising originality, conceptual strength, and experimental techniques across all forms of photographic image-making.
Successful projects will be curated into either a group show or a solo exhibition, depending on the strength, relevance, and context of the work. Selected artists will be given the opportunity to work closely with the photo access team to develop and realise their projects. Our experienced team will provide mentorship and logistical support, ensuring that your vision reaches its full potential.
